Melissa Dreyer is an Associate in the Commercial, Property and Litigation department of Adams & Adams, Pretoria office. Melissa is a Commercial Litigation specialist and a member of the department’s Banking, Construction and Insolvency (BCI) team. She completed her BCom Law degree at the University of Pretoria in 2009 and her LLB Degree in 2010 and was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in April 2011. Her main focus area is commercial litigation, with particular focus on specialised recoveries, contractual litigation, arbitration, construction disputes, banking and insolvency law. She also acts for the commercial recoveries departments of two of the four major banks in South Africa.
Melissa has also assisted in recovering substantial sums owing to the firm’s corporate clients. She also advises individual and corporate clients in a wide range of industry sectors, including mining, construction, security, automotive and IT. Melissa has also conducted arbitrations concerning contractual disputes involving software, construction disputes and aviation related claims.
Melissa is also involved in a marketing initiative which the BCI team started during or about 2016 known as Thuto coffee sessions, where the BCI team and their corporate representatives meet on a regular basis to discuss relevant cases and legal developments.
Melissa is also a member of the Law Society of the Northern Provinces.
