Adams & Adams scoops IP Team of the Year at African Legal Awards 2023
Adams & Adams has been named Intellectual Property (IP) Team of the Year at the 2023 African Legal Awards. The achievement recognises the firm’s market-leading position in this field across the continent.
The annual African Legal Awards, now in its 10th year, celebrates law firms, legal teams, and individuals who have made significant contributions to the profession. This prestigious event is hosted by Law.com International in partnership with the Corporate Counsel Association of South Africa (CCASA) and Africa Legal.
Adams & Adams earned the IP Team of the Year accolade in recognition of its exceptional work in patent litigation. The firm’s submission focused on its successful enforcement of patent rights for a major international client. In doing so, the firm showcased its exceptional expertise in handling complex patent litigation.
“We are very proud of our IP teams who consistently achieve recognition for their contributions to the legal profession and cement our position as the leading IP law firm in Africa. “The prestigious African Legal award bears testimony to teamwork, skill and client service”, says Kelly Thompson, Chairperson.
In June this year, Adams & Adams received the coveted “Africa Firm of the Year” at the Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) Awards for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) 2023. In addition, the firm won the South Africa Patent Firm of the Year and South Africa Copyright & Design Firm of the Year awards. These awards, which involve comprehensive firm submissions, peer review and independent research, demonstrate the firm’s excellence in the field.
“Consistent industry recognition emphasises that Adams & Adams retains a market-leading position in this complex area of law. Our expertise and capabilities extend beyond IP to a diverse range of legal areas in which we are committed to achieving outstanding results for our clients and unlocking our continent’s potential,” Kelly Thompson.
