OAPI–INPI FRANCE: 20TH JOINT COMMISSION STRENGTHENS IP COOPERATION
The 20th Joint Commission between the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI) and the French National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI France) was held on 1 April 2026 in Lomé, Togo, reaffirming the strength of their long standing partnership in advancing IP protection across the Francophone African region.
Discussions focused on key strategic areas, including IP enforcement, anti counterfeiting initiatives, operational efficiency at OAPI, and preparations for the tenth anniversary of the Bangui Agreement Acts of Bamako. The programme concluded with engagement sessions involving Togolese business leaders, highlighting the role of IP in competitiveness, investment security and innovation.
The meeting underscored OAPI and INPI France’s continued commitment to supporting economic development and strengthening IP systems across the OAPI member states.
