Tunisia’s IP office goes digital
Additional Topics:
On 24 June 2026, Tunisia’s IP office, the National Institute for Standardization and Industrial Property (INNORPI), launched its digital industrial property system.
With the introduction of the new system, INNORPI has transitioned from predominantly providing services in person to online. Effective from the launch date, the digital platform enables the electronic filing of trade mark, patent and industrial design applications, which are processed via the platform. The platform has an e-search function, which enables quick and remote access to official IP databases. Related procedures, including oppositions, renewal applications and assignment recordals, are also intended to be processed online.
In line with current international standards, electronic registration and renewal certificates will be issued in place of hard-copy certificates.
The digitisation of INNORPI’s services is expected to improve efficiency and the overall functioning of the Registry. While some initial implementation and technical challenges have been reported, the system’s performance is expected to improve over time.
