ARIPO- 15th Cohort of the Masters Degree in Intellectual Property Programme

On 22 August 2022 the Director General of ARIPO, Bemanya Twebaze, together with partners WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organisation), the government of Japan and the Africa University, launched the 15th cohort of the Masters in Intellectual Property Programme (MIP programme).

The MIP programme plays an essential role in addressing the need for education in the IP field and the development of resources, which are not readily available in Africa. The MIP programme aims to bring together the best African minds for the critical purpose of training IP experts for the continent.

The Japan Patent Office has once again provided scholarships to students, as well as experts in the field to teach the MIP programme, with students from 14 African countries drawn from various sectors.

It is encouraging to see that ARIPO remains committed to supporting the programme which is vital to the development of human resources skilled in intellectual property in Africa.
