COSOMA calls for proposals to access Copyright Cultural Fund

The Copyright Society of Malawi (COSOMA) has requested creative industry proposals for access to its Cultural Fund.

The Cultural Fund was recently launched by Michael Usi, the Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Wildlife following the phasing out of the Cultural Support Scheme. The aim of the fund is to assist urban and rural creatives to pursue their artistic and cultural projects by providing funding. The Fund allows for a maximum of K10 million to be awarded per project for a national project, whereas proposals for a community project could be awarded a maximum of K3 million.

The deadline for submission of proposals was 31 October 2022 with notifications of funding expected to be received by 18 November 2022.
