Following the instatement of the new Deputy Director General of OAPI, he and the Director General went on a diplomatic tour to the embassies and consulates of the OAPI member states.
Instatement and Diplomatic Tour of the Deputy Director General
On 11 January 2023, the recently appointed Deputy Director General of OAPI, Mr. Oualou Panouala, was formally instated during a ceremony presided over by Mr. Gabriel Dodo Ndoke, Minister of Mines, Industry and Technological Development of the Republic of Cameroon and President of the Board of Directors of OAPI.
In the week of 24 to 26 January 2023, the newly instated Deputy Director General, accompanied by the Director General of OAPI, embarked on a tour to meet with the embassies and consulates of the OAPI member states in Yaoundé.
The visits were with his Excellency Armando Kote Echuaga, Ambassador of Equatorial-Guinea to Cameroon; H.E. Narcisee Ahounou Manlan, Ambassador of Côte d’Ivoire to Cameroon; His Excellency Daniel Ngassiki, Embassy of the Republic of Congo; Jeannette Marcelle Gotchanga, Ambassador of the Central African Republic ; and Woya Oumou Owona Guindo, Consul of Burkina Faso.
During the visits, the Deputy Director General was assured of support from all of the ambassadors. Each of the Ambassadors also expressed their condolences to the OAPI staff regarding the death of Mr. Gabriel Dodo Ndoke, President of the Board of Directors of OAPI, which occurred the same week.
