NIGERIA – Brand Africa 100 awards

Brand Africa hosted the  12th annual Brand Africa 100: Africa’s Best Brands 2022 awards in Lagos, Nigeria on 26 May 2022, ranking the top 100 most admired brands in Africa. African brands have increased by 4-17% from an all-time low of 13% in 2020 and 2021. South Africa’s lifestyle footwear brands, Bathu ranked at number 52 and Drip  at number 65.

The top 10 most admired brands in Africa were dominated by non-African brands Nike, Adidas, Samsung, Coca-Cola, Apple, Tecno, Gucci, Toyota, Puma and MTN. However, African brands increased their share in the Top 100 most admired brands by 4% with 17 African brands included in the top 100.  The African ranking was dominated by South African brands which represented 7 out of the 17 African brands, followed by Nigeria with 4 brands.

In the ranking of most admired African brands, South African brand MTN held the number one position, followed by Nigerian telecom brand Dangote in number 2, and South African media brand DSTV in third postion.
