L2Pro Africa Programme
As part of our continued efforts to empower startups and disseminate information about the benefits of IP, Adams & Adams is proud to have partnered with Qualcomm in launching L2Pro Africa. This is a free online training program designed to empower African startups selected as finalists in the Qualcomm Make in Africa initiative. It is aimed at assisting SMEs and researchers to protect, secure, and maximize their innovations by understanding the IP systems of the countries where they are based and being empowered with information which will enable them to use the IP systems to benefit their innovations and business endeavours .
The L2ProAfrica platform provides a practical overview of procedures for filing, prosecuting, maintaining and enforcing all forms of IP rights including patents, designs, copyright and trade marks for select countries in Africa. The initial countries selected were from the finalists of the 2023 “Make in Africa” initiative. They include Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Ghana, Rwanda as well as the two African regional IP organisations, ARIPO and OAPI.
These step-by-step country guides empower the inventors with information about the IP systems in each country so that they can interact effectively with their IP representatives and their local IP offices.
Adams & Adams is proud of its ongoing collaboration with Qualcomm and is committed to the ongoing efforts to facilitate the effective use of the IP systems for the combined benefit of the continent.
