Kim is an admitted attorney, a qualified trade mark practitioner, member of the Legal Practice Council in South Africa and fellow of the South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law.

With a litigation-driven skill set her practice tends to focus on trade mark litigation, passing-off and unfair competition, domain and corporate name objections, the acquisition and enforcement of copyright and advertising and IP regulatory concerns. Contentious disputes and non-contentious legal enquiries, albeit still with serious consequences, have shaped Kim’s practice and dedication to her clients in varying fields, including FMCG, aviation, automotive, innovation and science, energy, and politics and governance.

Over her career, Kim’s contribution as a trade mark attorney, enforcer and defender of her clients’ rights has influenced the IP landscape in Africa by fostering better practices in relation to the treatment of enforcement matters at different levels and before varied forums, and by growing IP jurisprudence in African states.
